What we do

HK Hacks Our flagship hackathon. One week to build a working solution to a real problem, judged by professionals. Free, and open to students across the city. About the hackathon Winning teams at HK Hacks CCAs & workshops Twelve computer science co-curriculars at CIS: competitive programming, AI, game development, robotics, plus CS Ed Week and field trips. We exist to give every student at CIS a way into computer science, and to share it well beyond our own campus.

March 2026 HK Hacks 2026 The third edition. Opening ceremony at CIS, a week of building, and finals at WXKJ L/5.
January 2026 CS Ed Week A week of workshops: LEGO robotics, Minecraft redstone, typing competitions, and more.
January 2026 CIS × CityU field trip Y13 students and council members studied cybersecurity at CityU and prepared for the IB Paper 3 case study. With thanks to Professor Hancke and alumnus Jason Lee.
April 2025 HK Hacks 2025 Over 100 coders from across Hong Kong, seven judges, and two competition tracks.
December 2024 Tencent HQ, Shenzhen Years 12–13 visited Tencent's headquarters for a second time.
April 2024 CIS Hackathon 2024 Our first annual hackathon. Twelve winning teams across beginner and intermediate tracks.
December 2023 Tencent HQ · CS Ed Week Students explored AI, game development, and software design in Shenzhen, plus CS trivia, Advent of Code, and a Scratch hackathon at school.
