Community.
Everything you can join: twelve computer science co-curriculars, the contests we enter, the outreach we run across Hong Kong, and the places we tell people to start.
Since 2020, Girl Code has taught AI and beginner Python to over 120 girls across Hong Kong.
Foo\Bar
The council's outreach arm, giving free programming education beyond the walls of CIS.
Girl Code
Girl Code is a student-led group that recognises and celebrates the limitless potential of girls in technology. In collaboration with the NGO JYC, we have taught AI and a beginner Python course to over 120 girls. We work with secondary schools including Delia Memorial School and Precious Blood Secondary School to create a safe and supportive platform for girls to explore and excel in computer science, with upcoming collaborations with IBEL and EmpowerU.
Code+Create
Code+Create is a branch of Foo\Bar providing underserved teens with an introduction to programming and computer science. We host weekly in-person lessons at CIS for students at Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School, pairing volunteers one-to-one with beneficiaries for individualised lessons in Scratch and Python, so every student can discover new languages and build their own creative projects.
Competitions
CIS enters these every year. Join the Competitive Programming Team CCA, or speak to Mr Tam, and you go with us.
